Alice Wavine Carroll Smith of Leonia, FL passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 79 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Leonia Baptist Church with Rev. Rodd Jones and Rev. Thomas Ealum, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Leonia Baptist Church Missions Fund.
Alice was born September 23, 1945, in Leonia, FL to the late Dallas Angus and Elouise Gillis Carroll. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and plants, cooking for others and baking her famous 13-layer chocolate cake. She truly possessed a servant’s heart in everything she did for others, never putting herself first. She was employed as a beautician for more than 30 years.
Alice is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald Lane Smith of Leonia, FL; one daughter, Rhonda Steverson (William) of Graceville, FL; one son, William “Will” Smith (Kim) of Leonia, FL; four grandchildren, Lee Steverson (Tiffany) of Bonifay, FL, Garrett Steverson (Katherine) of Graceville, FL, Rachel Ward Peters (Spenser) of Slocomb, AL and Lane Smith of Leonia, FL; five great grandchildren, Wrenlee Steverson, Silas Steverson, Henry Peters, Hank Peters and Colsen Steverson; four siblings, Dalton Carroll (Brenda) of Leonia, FL, Ouida Davis of Leonia, FL, Cathy Garrett of Glendale, FL and David Carroll (Theresa) of Leonia, FL and four sitters who had become like family, Rosie Eskew, Theresa Haddock, Stella Wilson and Janet Johnson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Heath Carroll, Logan Garrett, Terry Davis, Peter Arnold, Steven Laird, Roger McLaney and Trevor Bell.
