DOTHAN. . .Anice Ann Hodges Graves, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday night, May 4, 2025, in Southeast Health Hospital. She was 80.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Cemetery, near Headland. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charitable organization or Southern Care Hospice in their memory.

Anice was born and raised in the Blackwood Community, daughter of the late James Shelby Hodges, Sr. and Ruby White Hodges. She attended Newville High School and received an Associates Degree in Texas. Anice was a retired Internal Revenue Service Agent. After retirement, she became an antique dealer and entrepreneur of old treasures. Anice, like her late husband, was also an avid Alabama football fan.

Anice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Wayne Graves on April 15, 2025, her brothers, Kenneth Hodges and James Shelby Hodges, Jr, and brothers-in-law, Steve Green and Joey Graves.

Surviving relatives include her son, James Richard Lassetter, Dothan; granddaughter, Dr. Christina Lassetter of North Carolina; a brother, Joe Lane Hodges, Sr. (Patricia), Blackwood Community; a sister, Janice Hodges Green, Headland; a sister-in-law, Diane Hodges, Dothan; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. From the Graves family, a step-daughter, April Graves Watkins (Micah), Rehobeth, AL; two step-sons, Christopher Michael Graves, Dothan; and Jason Wayne Graves (Leah), Taylor, AL; a sister-in-law, Debra Graves, Cold Springs, AL; ten step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to pallbearers, Andy Davis, Andrew Davis, Joey Hodges, Ken Hodges, Rocky Phillips, Ben Richards and Derold Boyett.

Anice’s family would like to thank SouthernCare Hospice for the loving and excellent care given to Mike and Anice during their illnesses to include, Ramona, Donna, Kelly, Ester, Shameka, Chaplain Kathy and Amber and also their private caregiver, Alicia Morris who loved and cared for both of them and a special friend, Joe Harris who was always there to help with their needs.
