Annie Marie Whitaker O’Neill, 80, of Geneva, Alabama, and formerly of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama, with Rev. Roger Whitaker and Dr. Michael Mynatt officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Annie was born in Bonifay, Florida, on April 15, 1946, to the late James Adair and Ruby Lee Day Whitaker. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, a profession she truly loved and took great pride in. Caring for others came naturally to Annie, and she was always there to help and care for her family whenever they were sick, whether at home or in the hospital. Annie was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise, Alabama, and recently had been attending Maple Avenue Baptist Church in Geneva, Alabama, with her family.
In her spare time, Annie enjoyed going to the beach, shopping, and enjoying a good ice cream. Above all, her family was the center of her life. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Kathryn Fulford.
She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Key (Steve); three grandchildren, Dylan Godwin (Leighanna), Peyton Godwin, and Andrew Key (Samantha); and two great-grandchildren, Ella Godwin and Walker Godwin.
