PANSEY - HOUSTON COUNTY:    On Monday morning at 8:27 AM Houston County Sheriff 911 received a call of a white male dead in his house.


Emergency units responded. On arrival and when examined the male subject was dead as a result of gunshot wounds.


Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators responded. The investigation quickly revealed this was indeed a murder.


When there is a murder, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza policy is “all hands on the deck”. The team of investigators each take different assignments and begin to work. And they work around the clock.


This morning at 1:20 AM Houston County Sheriff Deputies placed in the Houston County Jail Cierra Lushanda Goodson, black female, age 34, for Capital Murder Robbery First Degree


Capital Murder is a death penalty offense.


While it has not been confirmed the arrest is for the murder of Hardy Gray of 960 Billy Cherry Road, RSN is not aware of another active murder investigation yesterday by Houston County Sheriff Department but that of Mr. Gray.


Last night about 11:00 PM Houston County Sheriff Investigators were out and hitting several places looking for someone in connection to the murder. So they were in force, aggressively searching locations for someone. 


So far not called Sheriff Valenza or other Criminal Investigators because I am positive they were out until early this morning. Therefore allowing them to get some rest.


Both Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and Dothan Police Chief Will Benny believe in “all hands on deck” in the major crimes. They work diligently to gather the facts which then lead them to suspect(s) which then leads to apprehension.


And indeed the diligent work of Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigators have lead to an arrest. Do not know if more and all of the circumstances of the murder have not been released at this time.
