HOUSTON COUNTY: A semi was north bound on US 231 when a mechanical failure caused a fuel leak. The driver had just fueled up with 100 gals of fuel. The semi pulled over and called a wrecker. Alabama State Troopers responded and Houston County Emergency Management was notified. A call to Dothan Fire requesting their Haz-Mat unit to respond to control the leak.
ALDOT brought sand trucks to spread sand on the spilled fuel that spread for almost a mile.
Clean up crews are enroute to start clean up.
