HARTFORD: Tonight the Hartford Mayor and Hartford City Council met in a regular scheduled meeting.
During the meeting Hartford Police Chief Pete Markow exploded at the Hartford City Council and is seen in the video pointing his finger at one of the Council members. Markow even brings up his stopping the council member for speeding.
Chief Markow also talks about a recent struggle he was in when two Hartford Police Officers stood there and watched Chief Markow and did not assist in the arrest at all.
RSN has not watched the full meeting. It was on Let's Talk Hartford but has since been removed along with user comments.
Follwong the explosion of temper RSN is told there was a motion made for immediate termination of Pete Markow as Hartford Police Chief. In a 3 to 2 vote the motion died for the majority voted to keep Pete Markow.
RSN was attempting to screen record the video of the meeting before it was removed but got 10 phone calls which kept interrupting the screen recording.
Long time Hartford Police Chief Annie Ward retired. Chief Ward was an excellant police chief, and there were not any public issues or problems during her tenture. Chief Ward kept the City of Hartford peaceful, a quiet place to live, shop and get an education. The Hartford City Council ran smooth under former Mayors such as Jeff Sorrells who went on the become State Representative. And other Mayors that had led Hartford.
But over recent years the leadership of Hartford has overall, well sucked.
Chief Ward retired as the leadership of the City began to decline. The former Mayor resigned. Think he tried but the Hartford City Council was in rapid decline and hard to pull it together. Just a lot of problems.
Do not know what caused Hartford Police Chief Pete Markow to explode. But it was not good. Some comments from former law enforcement that worked with Markow in other agencies were positive. Some comments from citizens were negative. Some not posted from other law enforcement who called or text were both negative and positive.
So as to all of the facts, only the video of the explosion and it speaks for itself. But the explosion, according to some who commented, are concerned about the Chief's actions with the Hartford City Council on video, so then how are his reactions to citizens and the public that are not on camera and where the public can view.
And the Hartford City Council are the employing authority. Like them or not!!!!
