DALEVILLE: 8:00 PM Daleville Director of Public Safety John Crawford, Daleville Police Captain Todd Dorriety and members of the Police Department have made arrest in Daleville Murder.
On Saturday night at the drive thru at McDonald's in Daleville, Stephanie McCray and her husband drove into the drive thru of McDonald's. While in the drive thru a male subject, now identified as Stephanie McCray's husband, is alleged to have shot her. In front of the employee's of McDonald's.
Daleville Department of Public Safety - EMS Division and Police Division responded. Daleville EMS transported the victim to Medical Center Enterprise where she was pronounced dead by Dale County Coroner John Cawley.
Daleville Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigators and Patrol Officer's went to work processing the crime scene and working leads and information.
With the work of all of the members of the law enforcement of Daleville Department of Public Safety, through the assistance in the execution of a search warrant by Ozark Police Department and Dale County Sheriff Department, tonight an arrest was made.
Daleville Department of Public Safety - Police Division arrested 45 year old Ricky McCray, the husband of Stephanie McCray for her murder.
Suspect Ricky McCray was questioned at the headquarters of the law enforcement agency in Daleville, then transported to the Dale County Jail. All felony arrests must go to the County Jail. McCray will be held with no bond and have a first appearance within 72 hours before Dale County District Court Judge Stanley Garner.
All of the surrounding agencies assisted or offered assistance to Chief Crawford. Law Enforcement today, as Chief Crawford described, is a team effort with everyone working together to protect the rights of the victim in seeking justice for their death. In addition law enforcement has to protect the rights of those arrested in making sure they are afforded their day in court.
Chief Crawford also thanked the community who played a tremendous role in this terrible crime in being solved.
Chief John Crawford will issue a formal press release on Friday with specific details in this case.
