ASHFORD: 8:55 AM. Houston County Sheriff 911 Dispatched Emergency Units to a Motor Vehicle Accident With Injuries On Highway 84 and Elmer Road.
Ashford Police Chief Quintin Vann was the first unit on the scene. Chief Vann requested fire and EMS step response up, subject trapped, not responsive and smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. Chief Vann also requested a wrecker respond ASAP.
Ashford Fire and Ashford Rescue responded. Knight’s wrecker was on the scene in minutes. Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management responded.
Chief Vann had taken his tomahawk and busted the window to the truck. The driver then started to regain consciousness.
Knight Wrecker backed the wrecker down the hill hooking to the vehicle pulling it from the tree and swampy area.
The victim was removed from the vehicle and transported to a Dothan Hospital. The injuries were not life threatening but the patient was in extreme pain.
Ashford Police investigated the accident.
