QUITMAN COUNTY GA:       We have received a couple of calls concerning finding a body in Lake Eufaula near Lake Point. The information is a body was found floating in the water.

We have been unable to confirm.

We have confirmed that there has not been a body found on the Alabama side of Lake Point in Eufaula or Barbour County Alabama.

We have called Quitman County Georgia Sheriff Billy Joe ( B.J. ) Foster twice. Both times the telephones are answered by another agency and the calls were transferred to Quitman County Georgia. We have let the phones ring - and ring - and ring - and ring until they quit ringing.

We have been on Quitman County Georgia Sheriff web site and send a email to the Sheriff and a Deputy. And no response.

IF we get a answer we will report. The information has come from several sources. We have worked to confirm it. So far unable to get actual confirmation.

CONFIRMED AT 10:42 PM CST

WITHOUT the help of Quitman County Sheriff B.J. Foster, RSN has confirmed a body was found in Lake Eufaula on the Georgia side.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken over the investigation from the Sheriff.

The body was nude and found by fisherman. A autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. From sources, of which are probably more reliable than Sheriff Foster, foul play is suspect.

The Sheriff never returned the phone call. And when transferred to the Sheriff Office no one answers the telephone.
