HOUSTON COUNTY:  Wicksburg Fire and Wicksburg Rescue responded to a report of a Pedestrian Struck at US 84 and Hwy 123. Dothan Fire was Mutual Aided for advanced ice support assistance with patient. Units are on the scene but reports are the victim is a fatality.

Houston County Sheriff’s Office also responded. The area where the crash occurred is closed until it can be cleaned up. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.

Reports are the accident location was on the west bound side of Hwy. 84. A vehicle struck the victim who UNCONFIRMED was in the roadway when struck.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies closed the west bound lanes of traffic. Alabama Department Of Law Enforcement - Trooper Division - is investigating the accident.

The person who lost their life in the accident on Highway 84 near Highway 123 this morning has been identified as 24 year old Joseph A.
