DeFuniak Springs Police Warn about Thieves

DeFuniak Springs Police have received reports of thieves moving at night and taking valuables that are not secured. In one instance, numerous tools were taken out of the bed of a pickup truck that was parked on the roadway.

The owner did have the tools secured in large tool boxes, but the thief managed to remove the boxes from the truck bed. In another case, a generator was taken from a shed that was unsecured.

Although a determined thief will break-in to get what they want, many thieves seem to target items that are not locked down or hidden away. Remember Hide It – Take It – Lock It when it comes to your valuable items. The more difficult it is for a potential thief to get your valuables, the less likely they are to target you.
