Thankfully no injuries were reported in a suspected tornado that went across the north end of Eufaula Sunday afternoon. Major structural damage was observed on Gammage Road, at Weedon Field and in the Lakepoint Industrial Park. Meteorologists from the Birmingham National Weather Service office will survey the damage on Monday.

Please continue to avoid this area as Alabama Power Company crews are still working. The right north bound lane of Eufaula Avenue is closed from the National Guard Armory to Lakepoint Industrial until further notice. Please use extreme caution if you must travel through this area
