PORT ST. JOE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating an officer-involved shooting on Avenue A in Port St. Joe.
Gulf County Sheriff's officials say a man from Tennessee was killed in the shooting, which stemmed from a chase that began in Bay County.
Gulf County Florida is about 105 miles from Houston County. The out of state people travel thourgh Houston County AL. To Bay County Fl.
In meeting and discussing issues with Jackson County Fl. Sheriff Lou Roberts, Sheriff Roberts said they have more issues with the north/south corridor ( Highway 231 ) then the east/west corridor ( Interstate I-10 ).
AGAIN - that is why I am such an advocate on interstate interoperability communications such as TANGO TANGO. Jackson County Fl. Sheriff Department operate on TANGO TANGO. Barbour County Sheriff Department has just gotten on TANGO TANGO. Henry County Sheriff Department is on TANGO TANGO.
Last night’s chase in Houston County would have been great if the ALEA - Troopers and Houston County has been on TANGO TANGO.
That opens up inter agency interoperability. Communications is the key to a successful operation.
If this man was from Tennessee. What way do you think he traveled to Bay County Florida to get into Bay County?
Your honor... I rest my case!
