Today, June 8, Tomas Arias, a 38-year-old former Enterprise police officer, entered a plea agreement for 14 charges regarding sex crimes against children.
Arias was arrested in October of 2020 for charges including first degree sodomy of a child less than 12, parents or guardians permitting children to engage in production of obscene matter, production of obscene matter containing visual depiction of a person under the age of 17, and sexual abuse of a child under 12.
He was fired from the police department after his arrest.
Because of his guilty plea, the victims of the crimes do not have to testify in court.
Circuit Judge Sonny Reagan sentenced Arias to 35 consecutive years behind bars in the Alabama Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole.
