DOTHAN: When RSN broke the names of the City Manager candidates, we said Mike West " time to name that tune ".
Mike West Has " named that tune ".
On Tuesday's Dothan Commission agenda the Mayor and Dothan Commissioners are scheduled to give Mike West a contract through April 30th to continue as Dothan City Manager.
The Dothan Commission, excuse me, the registered voters of the City of Dothan will pay Mike West the sum of $ 7,750.00 a month as " Interim City Manager " plus $ 200.00 a month car allowance.
Mike West shall "perform the duties and functions in the Code of the City of Dothan and such other legally permissible and proper duties and functions as the City Commission shall assign ".
The registered voters of the City of Dothan will pay certain reasonable expenses.
The Interim City Manager ( Mike West ) shall do several duties as you will see in the document. West shall be in the office two (2) days per week and available by phone. ( Anymore contract opportunities like this? If so, I want one and you will not have to read articles from me. !)
Dothan City Manager Mike West gave the Dothan Mayor and Dothan Commissioners notice in February 2018 that he was retiring at the end of the year.
The 7 have been unable to hire someone as Dothan City Manager since then. Dothan has about 1,000 employees, a $ 250 million dollar a year corporation, only encompasses 68 or so square miles of the 587 square miles of Houston County. The City of Dothan and Houston County has a combined population estimated at 100,000 people.
Mike West will have the authority to "Appoint Acting City Manager in his abscence". HA! get ready!
Mr. West...since I suggested you would be able to "name that tune"....do I get a cut?
