Mr. Edwin Whatley, Jr., age 74, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday February 1, 2017, at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday February 4, 2017 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ansley Whatley officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.
The family will be receiving friends from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Glover Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Whatley was born August 16, 1942 in Dothan the son of Edwin Monroe Whatley, Sr. and Christine Barnhill Whatley. He was retired as a production supervisor in the television industry. Mr. Whatley worked with WTVY in Dothan, WSFA in Montgomery, WKRG in Mobile and retired from WFLA in Tampa, Florida in 2008. Mr. Whatley was a 1960 Graduate of Dothan High School.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include: Mother, Mildred Christine Barnhill Whatley, Dothan; 3 son’s, Steve Whatley(Lisa), Mobile; Trey Whatley (Sharon), Hattisburg, Ms.; Mathew Whatley, Montrose, AL.; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Whatley, Mobile, AL, Kayla Whatley, Auburn University and Taylor Whatley, Hattisburg, Ms.; sister, Martha Alexander, Tallahassee, FL.; 2 nephews, Brock Alexander, Tallahassee, FL. And Ben Alexander, Panama City, FL.; several cousins and uncles.
Active pallbearers will be: Ryan Whatley, Taylor Whatley, Brock Alexander and Ben Alexander.
