DALE COUNTY, ALABAMA: Clarence Metcalf of Ozark, age 58, was arrested in 2021 and charged with two counts of human trafficking in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree, and sodomy in the first degree.
The business owner was at one time facing several sexual abuse charges; however, two were reduced, and two were dismissed on Wednesday during his court hearing.
Dale County Judge Kimberly Crawford reduced his charges of sodomy and sexual abuse down to sexual misconduct, which is a misdemeanor. Judge Crawford dismissed his two human trafficking charges.
He was sentenced on Wednesday to a suspended sentence of twelve months in the Dale County Jail. He will be placed on two years of unsupervised probation with conditions that he has no new arrests, pays all fines/court costs, and complies with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
