Pair Charged in Shoplifting Spree

Two Mobile Alabama residents are charged with going on a shoplifting spree that hit multiple businesses. Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Investigators say the case is ongoing. 21-year old Tyra Booker is accused of grand theft in connection with shoplifting nearly $1000 worth of merchandise from the Victoria’s Secret store at Santa Rosa Mall in Mary Esther Tuesday.

OCSO Deputies made contact with Booker, and co-defendant 18-year old Dedric Clinton, last night after a separate shoplifting investigation led them to make a traffic stop in Destin. A witness had called in a description of the suspects, their car, and a tag number.

A deputy was able to quickly capitalize on that good information and spot the car on Legendary Drive. Deputies discovered thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen items from multiple stores in the car’s trunk and back seat. Clinton admitted to stealing items from the Foot Locker at Destin Commons.

Booker admitted taking items from Victoria’s Secret at both Santa Rosa Mall and Destin Commons. Merchandise from other stores however was also found in their possession and the investigation continues.
