PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA: A Panama City man has been arrested for stalking while police were investigating mysterious notes that were being left on vehicles.
The Panama City Police Department and Bay County Sheriff’s Office were made aware of the odd notes that were appearing on women’s cars in different locations. Over the past several weeks, more than a dozen notes were left on these vehicles.
During the investigation, detectives with Panama City Police Department were able to identify Charles Edward Sparks, a 53-year-old white male, as a possible suspect.
As the investigation continued, surveillance video was used, and detectives were able to charge Sparks with stalking a victim to church and other locations. He was booked into the Bay County Jail.
Detectives believe Sparks was responsible for all of the notes, and there is no further threat to the public. They are asking the public to contact the Panama City Police Department if they have received similar notes.
Anyone with additional information regarding this case is asked to call the Panama City Police Department at 850-872-3100, or they can report tips anonymously through their website at www.panamacitypolice.gov.
