On 01/06/2019 at approximately 01:05 pm Ozark Dale County E911 received multiple calls in reference to several shots being fired in the area of Briarhill Court in Ozark.


The caller advised that several black male subject(s) fired multiple rounds in the area of Briarhill Court. The caller was also able to give a good description of the occupants and the vehicle used in this crime. The vehicle was described as a white four door passenger car.


Moments later a Dale County Sheriff’s Deputy encountered the suspect vehicle and a vehicle pursuit ensued. After a short pursuit the suspect(s) abandoned the vehicle in the 200 block of County Road 20 near the Ewell Community. The suspect(s) were last seen running into a wooded area just off County Road 20.


Ozark Police Department requested assistance from Houston County Sheriff Office and their K9 Division. After responding to the area; Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Dale County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ozark Police Department conducted a search of the wooded area and located two black male suspect(s).


Both suspect(s) were taken into custody and transported to the Ozark Police Department for questioning. Both will face criminal charges for shooting into an occupied dwelling and could face other charges. Authorities could make more arrest as the investigation continues.


Law enforcement recovered multiple pieces of evidence and interview several witnesses who assisted in identifying the suspect(s).


 There were no reported injuries due to this event.
