Update on Yesterday’s Manhunt in Dale County

On Thursday January 10, 2019 an Ozark Police Officer observed two suspicious males standing on the porch of a residence on AL Hwy 105 near the Ozark City Limits. The officer, who also noticed the suspect’s vehicle parked behind the residence, attempted to make contact with the subjects but they fled on foot into the woods behind the residence.


A perimeter was set up and K-9 units from Dale County SO and the Alabama Department of Corrections as well as WASP (aviation) were brought in to track the subjects.


One subject was located  in the wood line near the residence and the other was apprehended near AL Hwy 105 and Faust Ave after an approximately 3 hour track.


DCSO Investigators have charged Jeremiah Rumph and Jalyn Jackson with Burglary 3rd and Theft of Property 1st and placed them in the Dale County Jail.
