UPDATED @ 9:57 AM Motor Vehicle Accident in the 15000 Block of US 231 North in Midland City

DALE COUNTY:  Fire, Law Enforcement and EMS are on the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the 15000 block of US 231 North in Midland City near the Shell station. Reports are one vehicle has rolled over and down an embankment and landed in the water.

Dothan Fire Heavy Rescue 4 had been dispatched to assist with the accident. Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Pete Webb is also responding with Rescue 4.

Ozark Fire EMS was on the scene and responded to the accident. The driver of the SUV rolled down a steep embankment as he was traveling north bound on Highway 231. He rolled down the embankment and stopped short of going into water.

Midland City Police and Fire were on the scene. Mutual Aid assistance was called for Dothan Fire Technical Rescue because of the injuries and steep embankment. The driver was able to self extricate and make it up the embankment with assistance prior to Technical Rescue arriving.

Reports on the scene the driver of the SUV was driving reckless. Several vehicles moved over due his reckless driving. The driver swerved over to the right and struck a vehicle and rolled down the embankment.

Midland City Police are investigating the accident.
