UPDATED at 7:46 pm... Shooting at Walkers Motel on East Main

Multiple DPD units and EMS personnel are on the scene of a shooting that just occurred at Walkers Motel on East Main St. in Dothan. Reports are that one male is confirmed to have been shot. Fire advised CPR in progress.

UPDATED at 5:25 PM...

The victim was transported to the hospital. The possible suspect vehicle was a silver passenger car last seen heading east on US 84.

Cottonwood Police have one subject in custody at the Inland Station in Cottonwood. The suspect stopped at the store. The clerk asked Cottonwood Rescue to call Cottonwood Police and they did. As Cottonwood Rescue was talking with the police the suspect told Rescue that he he had just shot one in Dothan.

Cottonwood Police were quick on the scene. Houston County Sheriff Deputies were quick on the scene along with Cottonwood Police. Dothan Police have dispatched officers to the scene.

The victim, shot at Walker’s Motel on Highway 84 East. 

A firearm has been recovered from the vehicle.

Dothan Police Criminal Investigation is investigating.

DOTHAN Police have confirmed the shooting at Walker’s Deluxe Motel is a murder case. Dothan Crime scene investigators are on the scene.

Dothan Criminal Investigators have a person of interest, Ronald Eugene Ducker, at the Dothan Police Department conducting interviews and further investigation.

The alertness of Cottonwood Police Officer Marcus Alexander led to the apprehension of the suspect at the Inland Station in Cottonwood. A firearm was recovered belived to have been used in the murder.

Investigation continues.

The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
