DOTHAN: Grand Opening for the Wiregrass Public Safety Center. The 24-acre facility will play an essential role in the ongoing training and development of first responders in Southeast Alabama and the surrounding areas. First responders and the general public can be specifically trained in the handling of emergency situations such as fire, intruders or evacuations at this multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art facility.
Local dignitary presenters include Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba, Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver and Wiregrass Foundation Board Chairman Dr. John Dunn. Dr. Barbara Alford, president
of the Wiregrass Foundation will serve as the emcee. The event also included several demonstrations of the various safety training props including police scenario simulations, firing range, and the Jubilee Builders Teach Me House just to name a few.
