ABBEVILLE. . .Betty Adams Carroll, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Wednesday morning, February 11, 2026. She was 90.
A private graveside service for the family was held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 13, 2026, in the Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Clio, Alabama, with Pastor Ronnie Benefield officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carroll was born and raised in Clio, Alabama, daughter of the late Jay Adams and Margaret Carr Adams. She was a graduate of Clio High School and attended Troy University where she received a B.A. in English. Mrs. Carroll later received a Master’s Degree in English from Samford University. She lived in Italy before moving to the Edwin Community in 1980. Mrs. Carroll resided in Abbeville for the past five years. She was retired from Abbeville High School as an English Teacher. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Leroy Carroll.
Surviving relatives include her son, Jon Carroll, Headland; a sister, Margaret Stewart, and a niece, Beth Stewart, both of Jacksonville, Florida.
