SATSUMA, ALABAMA. . .Betty Jean Riley Williams, a resident of Satsuma, Alabama, died Wednesday morning, March 5, 2025, in the Seabrook Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Daphne, AL. She was 87.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Old Center Church Cemetery, 764 County Road 89, Newville, AL 36353, with Pastor Anita Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 12:45 PM Friday in the sanctuary of Old Center Church. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Williams was born and reared in Henry County, Alabama, near Newville, daughter of the late Carl William Riley and Lilly Bell McClenny Riley. She was a graduate of Newville High School. Mrs. Williams formerly lived in Eight Mile, Alabama before moving to Satsuma in 1967. She was an active member of Generations Church in Satsuma. In 1976, Mrs. Williams and her late husband, Jerome Williams, established Saraland Printing. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Carpenter, and three brothers, Reverend Olen Riley, Bernice Riley and Clyde Riley.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Kathy Lundy, Spanish Fort, AL; a son, Perry Williams (Sondra), Phenix City, AL; sisters, Valeta Chancey, Ozark, AL; and Patricia Douglas Satsuma, AL; grandchildren, Wesley Williams (Jennifer), Brittany Jones (Brandon), Courtney Lundy and Riley Lundy (Brittney); great-grandchildren, Hudson Williams, Oliver Williams, Cadie Lane Jones and Aubrey Lundy; many nieces and nephews.
