Betty Jo Wood Parmer, a resident of Columbus Georgia, and formerly of Bakerhill, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Magnolia Manor in Columbus. She was 78 years old.
The family will have a memorial graveside at Pond Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of the flowers the family asks memorial contributions to be made to Magnolia Manor- 2010 Warm Springs Road Columbus, Georgia 31904.
Betty Jo was born on May 11, 1947, in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Archie Miller and Maudie Inez Holmes Wood. She worked as a secretary for Boyd Brothers Transportation. She enjoyed visiting the beach and reading.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kevin Parmer.
Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Levin Parmer (Kathy) of Lapine, Alabama and Devin Parmer of Sebring, Florida; sister, Virginia Wood Griffin (Thomas Jatko) of Lapine, Alabama; five grandchildren, Haleigh Parmer Russo (Ryan), Hollie Parmer Idec, Brayden Parmer, Kimberly Parmer, and Laura Brown; five great-grandchildren, Ridge Russo, Rawlins Russo, Pressley Idec, Jakob Idec, and Delaneigh Ann Gorby; niece, Jennifer Griffin.
