Betty Joyce Sheffield Storey, a resident of Eufaula, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, June 2, 2025. She was 72 years old.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula with Pastor Joey Ogletree officiating. The burial will follow in the Epworth Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Glover Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
Betty was born on April 7, 1953, in Eastman, Georgia to the late George Frank and Myrtice Ouida Lee Sheffield. She worked for Southern Plastics for several years and owned and operated Storey’s Jams & Jellies. Betty loved cooking and was known for her famous pepper jellies and jams. She also enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, watching Gunsmoke, flowers, gardening, candy making, but most of all she loved her family especially her grandbabies. She was a member of Eufaula Church of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Thomas Sheffield, Bobby Sheffield, and David Sheffield; three sisters, Jennelle Toller, Missy Smith, and Carol Carpenter.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 55 years, Reuben C. Storey; two daughters, Cindy Dunn (Donnie) of Scaly Mountain, North Carolina and Tonya Storey Lindsey of Warner Robins, Georgia; son, Kalan Storey (Meagan) of Eufaula, Alabama; two sisters, Shirley Wright of Eastman, Georgia and Sandra Coburn (Jason) of Douglasville, Georgia; four grandchildren, Wray Dunn, Cole Lindsey, Alex Storey, and Addy Storey; several nieces and nephews.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Charles Walker, Boulder Brown, Casey Schonfarber, Lee Spurlock, Nic Deal, and Cyrus Dunn.
