
Betty (Lewis) Watson
Betty (Lewis) Watson, a resident of Dothan passed away on November 16, 2025 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan at the age of 89.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 11:30AM in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 10:30AM until 11:30AM prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Doug Tew Therapeutics, 300 Garland Street, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
Betty was born in Elmore County on September 13, 1936 to John and Geneva Mitchell Lewis. She met the love of her life, Bill Watson Jr., in Montgomery, Alabama and was married forty-nine years before his passing. She completed her education at Elmore County High School, graduating in 1953. After graduation she began what was thought to be her career at the Lee County Courthouse before embarking on a career as bookkeeper for the Dothan City School System, retiring after thirty-five years. She was a girl scout leader for many years. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Highland Park Methodist Church for fifty years. She played an active role as youth leader and Sunday School teacher.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Charles Lewis and Michael Lewis.
Left to cherish her memories are one son, Charles B. Watson (Jenny) of Mobile, AL; two daughters, Debra Bryant (Ted) of Auburn, AL, Cathy Irvin (Sam) of Dothan, AL; two sisters, Barbara Fitzsimons (Bernie) and Patricia Thompson, both of Eclectic, AL; five grandchildren, Ted W. Bryant (Ashley), Annon Sasser (Scott), Will Bryant, Emily Manley (Matt), Adam Irvin; seven great grandchildren, Bryant Sasser, Mollyann Sasser, Ansleigh Bryant, Abigail Bryant, Avery Manley, James Manley, Luke Manley; and numerous friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Charles Watson, Matthew Manley, Ted W. Bryant, Will Bryant, Scott Sasser, and Bryant Sasser.
