Blair Rudolph McCall, a cherished pillar of Cottonwood, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 94. Born on October 16, 1930, in Alabama, Blair’s life was a testament to the enduring strength of family, the joy of simple pleasures, and the deep roots of faith.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Cottonwood Community Church, where Blair was a lifelong member. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service, welcoming all who wish to honor Blair’s memory.

Blair was also preceded in death by his parents, Arthur McCall and Vivian McCardel McCall; his beloved wife of 70 years, Susan McCall’ and his sisters, Billie Sue Greathouse and Trudy Mead.
He leaves behind a family who adored him: his son, Donald McCall; his daughter, Judy McCall Clark; his grandchildren, Samantha McCall and Travis Rich; siblings, Becky Vann (Charles), JoAnn Dixon, Kenneth McCall, and Willie Ray McCall (Brenda; brother-in-law, Burl Greathouse, and numerous nieces and nephews, will miss his wise counsel and warm embrace.

Blair’s interests were a reflection of his love for the outdoors and his community. He was a regular at the Senior Center in Cottonwood, where he shared stories and laughter with friends. His garden was a source of pride and joy, as was his love for fishing, which provided not only a peaceful respite but also an opportunity to connect with nature. A lifelong resident of Cottonwood, he was a fixture at the Cottonwood Community Church, where he shared his faith and fellowship with all who entered. His work history and association involvement were integral parts of his life, and his presence will be deeply missed by those who worked alongside him.
