BOBBY “BOB” JOE BUSH

HEADLAND… Bobby “Bob” Joe Bush, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 2026, at his home, following a long illness. He was 92.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Charles Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland, Alabama. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Bob was born on February 5, 1934, in McKenzie, Alabama, to Walter and Arie Bush. Bob lived in Marrietta, Georgia, Andalusia, Alabama, and Theodore, Alabama prior to moving to Headland, Alabama in 1996. Bob was involved in construction during his early years. He was known as a perfectionist and wanted all his work to reflect that. He later became involved in mobile home transporting and became the President of AAA Mobile Home Movers, Inc. until his retirement in 1996 due to health issues. Bob was a force to be reckoned with. He can only be defined by the word “tough”. Even after a brain tumor left him disabled and his life drastically changed, he never complained. When asked how he was doing, his answer was always, “I fine”. He loved to tell stories of his younger years, and his boisterous laughter was his trademark.

Bob loved Bluegrass music, fishing, and gardening. Due to his health, many of his gardening days were spent on his knees. He believed, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way”, and he proved it. He also loved to listen to sermons of Dr. David Jeremiah.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Arie Bush; his son, Randy Bush; his brothers, Brunson (Lucille) Bush, Leland (Lois) Bush, Edgar (Helen) Bush, Melvin Bush, Willie Bush, and Hayward (Melba) Bush; his sisters, Catherine Bush, Grace (Clayton) Stokes, Ocie (Clifford) Stanley, Ruby (Clayton) Griffin, Sara Nell (Gene) Cato, and Gertrude Bush. He was also preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Patricia Helms Bush.

Bob is survived by his children, Sandra Bush of Headland, AL, Mike (Lynn) Bush of Pensacola, FL, Angela (Kevin) Stephens of Chattanooga, TN; his daughter-in-law, Rachel Bush of Headland, AL; his brother, H.T. (Carolyn) Bush of Jefferson, GA; his sisters-in-law, Doris Bush of Buford, GA and Eleanor Bush of Newton, Alabama. He is also survived by his loving and devoted companion of twenty-six years, Ardieth Watson of Skipperville, AL. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Erin Bush, Joel Bush, Mark (Deana) Bush, Michael (Angeline) Bush, Chase (Melissa) Bush, Jessica (Cameron) Davis, Jacob (Keira) Stephens, Lori (Matt) Johnson, Wendy (Jeff) Threllkeld; his sixteen great-grandchildren; and his three great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their kind and compassionate care, over the last months.

Bob will be deeply missed, and we look forward to being reunited.

2 Timothy 4:7 Sums up Bob’s life, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”.
