Carolyn Dixon Spivey McCraney, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her residence. She was 81 years old.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at God’s Way Baptist Church in Eufaula, Alabama with Rev. Randy Stokes and Rev. Sam Davis officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. The burial will follow at Abbeville Memorial Cemetery East in Abbeville, Alabama. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Glover Funeral Home in Eufaula, Alabama.

Carolyn was born on April 19, 1943, in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Floyd Jackson and Madie Louise Hartzog Dixon. She was a 1961 graduate of Abbeville High School. Carolyn worked as a secretary for Easy Pay Tire Store in Abbeville for over 20 years then worked for Alabama Butane for 10 years until her retirement. After her retirement she operated a produce stand with her husband Verby from 2005-2009. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, fishing, sewing, but most of all she loved her family and her church. She was a member of God’s Way Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Leray Spivey; husband, Verby McCraney.
Survivors include a son, Darrin Spivey (Ginny) of Bakerhill, Alabama; two daughters, Debbie Spivey (David Sullivan) of Melrose, Florida and Michele Morris (Danny) of Abbeville, Alabama; brother, David Dixon (Peggy) of Clanton, Alabama; sister, Mary Money (Frankie) of Haleburg, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Eric Davis (Megan), Ashley Stanley (Jonathan), Trevor Spivey, Cayden Spivey, Maranda Jones (Zac), Ansa Carter (Mollie), Joseph Parrish, and Daniel Metcalf; four great-grandchildren, Mason Davis, Noah Stanley, Wyatt Stanley, and Lincoln Jones; several nieces and nephews.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Danny Morris, Donny Paul, Dickie McCraney, Eric Glover, Kendall Glover, and Tim Kilpatrick.
