Cassandra “Cassie” Renee Varner, of Slocomb, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026. She was 28.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Panther Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Gibson officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Cassie was born on January 14, 1998. She was a 2016 graduate of Slocomb High School. Following her graduation, she traveled across many states, exploring new places and making memories. Among all the destinations she visited, New Orleans (NOLA) held a special place in her heart and truly became her second home. Cassie developed a relationship with Jesus early in life and attended Panther Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Cassie’s greatest joy and deepest love was her family.
Cassie is preceded in death by her aunt, Renee Zorn, and her PawPaw, Paul Zorn.
Cassie is survived by her son, Jalen Craig; parents, Jason and Rita Miller; sister, Jessa Miller; and her brothers, JP Miller, Ethan Miller, and Brandon Miller. She also leaves behind her boyfriend, Alex Rivera; her Memaw, Becky Zorn; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members who loved her dearly.
