7:49 AM Combined Law Enforcement Executes Search Warrant In Geneva County

GENEVA – DALE COUNTY AL:      Based on intelligence information obtained by Dale County Sheriff Task Force a combined law enforcement force executed a search warrant in Geneva County.

Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum, Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms, ALEA – SBI, and FBI Agents executed a search warrant on a Geneva County residence. The combined law enforcement officers were assisted by Dale County SRT Unit and WASP ( Wiregrass Aviation Support Program ) flew overhead as officers executed the search warrant.

The intelligence information obtained by Dale County Sheriff Task Force was for cyber crimes. The search warrant resulted in an arrest. At this time RSN does not have the name of the individual taken into custody.

The search warrant executed is an example of law enforcement joining hands together to make the community safer. Criminal activity has no geographical boundries. When intelligence leads then law enforcement has no boundries. The combined law enforcement search warrant is just one example of the committment law enforcement has to weeding out those who seek to committ unlawful acts with those underage.

Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum assembled a team to focus on illegal acts with those underage. The team will seek out those who have immoral desires and leave no stone unturned.

UPDATED @ 4:31 PM 12:39 PHOTO UPDATE: 11:45: Shooting at West Main, South Lena

Dothan Police and Pilcher’s are responding to a report of a person with a gunshot wound at West Main Street and South Lena Street.

The victim’s condition is unclear.

UPDATE:

It’s reported a client shot a bondsman at a bonding office. Reports indicate two people were shot.

DPD is calling for Criminal and crime scene investigators.

UPDATE:

DPD is searching for an alleged suspect vehicle.

Reports now say one person returned fire, possibly shooting the original suspect in the arm.

The bondsman is reported to have been taken to the hospital under trauma alert.

The nearby First Baptist Church was placed on lockdown.

UPDATED @ 4:31 PM       By:  Rickey Stokes

Based on the WTVY article it is obvious the incident involving the bondsman or bonding company WAS NOT Rickey Stokes or A – Advantage Bonding. The reason you know the WTVY article reads “local bonding company”. Had it been Rickey Stokes or  A – Advantage Bonding then Ken Curtis and WTVY  would have had headlines Rickey Stokes and A – Advantage Bonding shot …

WDHN did the same.

This has nothing to do with Rickey Stokes or A – Advantage Bonding.

Dothan Police is arresting the two bondsman. A bondsman can make a lawful arrest of a person they have on bond. And a bondsman has the authority to use what reasonable force necessary to effecuate an legal arrest.

DO NOT take this statement as saying these bondsman were right or wrong. I do not know all of the facts in this case. That is for the Dothan Police and Court system to decide.
