SHORTERVILLE. . .Selena Jane Bunch-Trammell, a resident of Shorterville, Alabama, passed away early Saturday evening, December 6, 2025, at her residence. She was 61.

Selena Bunch-Trammell was born and raised in Colchester, England and moved to the United States in 1992. She formerly lived in Ft. Walton, Beach and Navarre, Florida before moving to Shorterville in February 2025. Selena was preceded in death by her daughter, Kendall Bunch, her mother, Yvonne Chivers Taylor McKenna, and a sister, Maria Taylor.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Gerald Lee Trammell, a daughter, Maria Oliva (Tony), her sons, Jayden Bunch and William Trammell (Heather); her father, Tony Taylor of France; sisters, Sondra Oliver and Amanda Mardell; and a brother, Clive Taylor; grandchildren, Tanner Trammell, Issabelle Oliva, Isaac Oliva, Isaiah Oliva and Illiana Oliva; lifelong and best friend, Sarah Purkins, and her fur babies, Pumpkin, Little Man, Harley, Maximus, “BB”, and Pixie.

Mr. Rodney Daniel Carr, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, December 5, 2025, in the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile. He was 52 years old. A memorial service for Mr. Carr will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 13, 2025 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Terry Threats officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Carr was born August 12, 1973, in Ozark, Alabama. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1991 and served two years in the Army National Guard. Rodney was a man who felt most at peace outdoors, especially anywhere near the river with a fishing pole in his hand. Though he often carried a “mean mug” on his face, anyone who truly knew him understood just how softhearted, loving, and generous he was. Rodney cared deeply for others and was always willing to help in any way he could. He loved his family and his friends with everything he had. His Mother and Grandmother was the center of his world, and as for his sister it was always full of laughter, teasing, arguing, and the kind of love only they could understand. His dogs were his constant companions and truly his best friends. Above all, Rodney loved our God. He may have walked his own path at times, but God always found a way to put him back on the path he was supposed to be on. His faith was a solid part of his heart and his story. Rodney will be remembered for his kindness, stubborn streak, his humor, and the love he gave so freely. Though he will be deeply missed, the imprint he left on those who knew him will remain forever. Rodney has finally found his rightful place in this world. He is free. Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Roger Carr; uncle, Bobby Childree; and his grandfather, O’Neal Childree. Survivors include his mother, Margie Weldon of Ozark; sister, Krissy Walker (Jason) of Ozark; grandmother, Nell Childree, Ozark; two aunts, Martha Rogers, Ozark and Myra Perault (Pat) of Dothan; one uncle, Billy Childree of Ozark; niece, Destiny Walker and nephew, Travis Walker. His two fur babies, Baby Girl and Brindy also survive.

Betty Jean Joiner Cain (78) passed away suddenly Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Southeast Medical Center. Her loving husband, Glenn Franklin Cain (74), passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Southeast Medical Center after a short illness.
Funeral services for Betty and Glenn will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Grandstaff officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:50 AM at the church prior to the services. Burial will follow at Memory Hill at a later date.
Betty was born in Dothan to the late Genelle Matthews and Byron Joiner. She was a Beautician at Nelson’s Salon in Dothan for 50 years. The beach was one of her favorite places, but as grandchildren, and great-grandchildren came, she thoroughly enjoyed her role as MeMaw! Betty had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around!
Glenn was born in Dothan to the late Charles G. and Lillian Simmons Cain. He was a 1970 graduate of Dothan High School, and soon served the City of Dothan as a fireman for 26 years. After retiring, he was employed by Dothan City Schools in the diversion program, and worked for 22 years. Glenn was a kind man, and like Betty, enjoyed the beach, but also treasured his role as Pop to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After their retirement, they enjoyed going on cruises, and were always planning the next one!
Betty and Glenn were married in October, 1976, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage before passing away on the same day. She was the love of his life, and he was the love of hers.They were lifelong members of Southside Baptist Church.
They are survived by daughters Paige (Devin) Whittle, Sandi (Ron) Parrish, both of Dothan, and Tina (Richard) White of Montgomery; Grandchildren Douglas and Matt Mims of Dothan, Christopher (Jordan) Cooper of Knoxville, TN; Peyton (Peyton) Whittle, Opelika, Parker (Kirianna) Whittle Opelika, and Walker White of Montgomery.Glen is survived by his brother, Stan (Theresa) Cain, Dothan, and numerous cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Faison. In addition to her children, she is survived by brothers David Joiner, Charlie Prater; sister Ann (Frank) Thompson of Tampa, and numerous cousins and other and other relatives.
HEADLAND… Teresa Key Daniels, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday evening, December 5, 2025, at her home. She was 91.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Jamie Danzey officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Mrs. Daniels was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late James “Jim” Albert Key and Roseann “Rosie” Marrell Key. She lived her entire life in the Headland and Newville, Alabama area. She worked and retired after several years from West Point Pepperell. She was a very selfless person and was a foster grandparent to many children. She will be missed by all who know and love her. She was a member of the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Johhny Frank Daniels; her daughter, Mary Lee Hooper; and her siblings, James B. Key, Emitt Key, George Key, Will James Key, Beatrice Davis, Ophelia Cochran, and Jimmie Lee Thomas.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her son, Johnny C. Daniels, her grandchildren, Tiffany Hooper, Tenika Hooper, and Marquis Hooper; her great-grandchildren, Noa, Nixyn, Markel, Mahri, Amiyah, Myles, Airen, Monroe, and Melea Valerie; and her special niece, Stephanie Daniels Williams; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
NEWTON…Mr. Greg Walker, a resident of Newton, died late Thursday afternoon, December 4, 2025, at his home. He was 63.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Waco Johnson officiating. Burial will be held in Clopton Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Walker was the son of the late Cecil Walker and Versie Wilkinson Walker and grew up in the close-knit Clopton Community, where family and hard work were at the heart of life. In 2012, he made Newton his home, bringing with him the same strong values and determination that shaped his life.
He spent his days doing what he loved most—working the land and building with his hands. Farming, logging, and operating heavy equipment weren’t just jobs to him; they were a way of life. He had a deep respect for the outdoors and a talent for turning hard work into something lasting and meaningful. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Misty Hagler.
Surviving relatives include his son, Kolten Walker (Shelby), Ozark; grandson, Leo Walker; uncle, James Roy Wilkinson, Clopton.

R. H. “Billy” Griswold, 86, passed to his heavenly reward on Friday, December 5, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Billy is survived by Becky Gould Griswold, his wife of sixty-three and a half years, his sons Tim (T. J.), and Ricky (Debbie), six grandchildren Elizabeth (Evan) Kohen, Traylor (Briana), Christian (Abigail), Collier (Aselyn), Cameron (Kayla) Griswold, Caitlin (Jacob) Patterson, 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Hines, a brother-in-law, Charles Gould, sisters-in-law Linda Gould and Myra Currier, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Emmie Lee Griswold, his brother I. W. Griswold, sister-in-law Catherine Griswold, and brothers-in-law L. C. Hines and Dr. Vincent Currier.
Billy was born and reared in New Brockton, Alabama. He served in the National Guard. He understood the value of hard work. In his earlier years he barbered at Ft. Benning, Georgia and in Phenix City, Alabama, where he met the love of his life. After moving to Dothan, he was a building contractor with L. C. Hines and R. H. Griswold Homebuilders. Billy was a faithful member of Cloverdale Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and served on the building committee and several other committees over the years.
Billy dealt courageously with Parkinson’s Disease for many years. While at home he took joy in the company of his friends, family, and his great grandchildren, who affectionately called him “PaPa.” Our family is grateful for the exceptional care given by hospice nurses, Joyce Ellison and Allie Argentina at Gentiva Hospice. Their patience, kindness, and dedicated care helped our family navigate a difficult time, ensuring our loved one’s comfort and care.
Funeral services will be led by Rev. Vann Cooley and Rev. Alan Bryan at Ward Wilson on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 2:00p.m., with visitation at 12:30p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Christian Griswold, Collier Griswold, Traylor Griswold, Cameron Griswold, Evan Kohen, and Jacob Patterson.
