Shirley Ann Ferguson of Enterprise, AL passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Medical Center Enterprise. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Ino Baptist Church with Pastor Garry Winstead and Pastor Danny Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Ino Baptist Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ino Baptist Church, AL-134, Kinston, AL 36453.
Shirley Ann Ferguson, a beloved child of God, whose earthly journey began on November 20th, 1949, and who was called home to eternal rest.
Shirley was a woman whose life was a testament to unwavering faith and boundless love. She walked daily in the light of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her devotion to Him was the cornerstone of her existence. As a faithful member of Ino Baptist Church, she found strength and community in her relationship with her fellow believers.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Fred Land, her mother, Mary Land, her brother, Stanley Land, her sister Frieda Land, her daughter, Shannon Stocstill, and her son, Tyler Ferguson. While we mourn their absence, we find comfort in knowing they are reunited in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, carried on by her devoted husband of 45 years, Steve Ferguson. Her love lives on through her brother Leroy Land, her daughter, Selina Stocstill, her daughter, Charee Trammell, and her son, Chris Ferguson. Her memory is cherished by her grandchildren: Dylan Ferguson, Karlee Price, Kyle Ferguson, Katie Pittman, Alexa Thomas, and Carter Hearold. And her love continues to blossom in her great-grandchildren: Reighlynn Ferguson, Logan Thomas, Aiden Pittman, and Oliver Pittman.
Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She touched the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness. Her life was a reflection of Christ’s love, and she will be remembered for her unwavering faith and her servant’s heart.
Though we grieve her passing, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. May her memory be a blessing, and may we all strive to live as she did, with faith, love, and devotion to God.

Alberto Hugh Asyn Jr.,

Alberto Hugh Asyn Jr., a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on March 26, 2025, at Southeast Health, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 10, 1957, in Panama, Alberto’s laughter and kind spirit brought joy to all who knew him throughout his 68 years of life.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the St. Columba Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 or by phone, 1-800-227-2345.

Alberto was predeceased by his loving parents, Alberto Asyn Sr. and Hercilia Kam Asyn. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his devoted wife of 25 years, Helena Fernandez, and their four sons, Augusto Asyn (Silvia), Adrian Asyn (Hannah), Andre and Luis Alberto Asyn. A sister, Taffy Asyn. Three brothers, William, Theodore and Terrance Asyn. Two grandchildren, Paulina Asyn and Silas Kai Asyn.

For 24 years, Alberto was a respected figure in the poultry industry, dedicating his career to Wayne Farms. His colleagues knew him as a hard worker who could always be counted on to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke or a funny story. His commitment to his work was matched only by his commitment to his faith and community as a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.

Alberto’s interests extended beyond his professional life. He celebrated 25 years of marriage with the love of his life, Helena, and together they built a family founded on laughter and mutual respect. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he instilled in them the values of hard work, compassion, and the importance of family.  He had a knack for making others laugh, and his sense of humor was one of his most memorable traits.

Those who knew Alberto will remember him as a funny and kind man who could brighten the darkest of days with his smile. His presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his memory will continue to inspire laughter and love in the hearts of his family and friends.

As we say goodbye to Alberto, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of joy, love, and an unshakeable faith in the goodness of people. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories he told, the lives he touched, and the family he adored.

BLUE SPRINGS…Mrs. Mary Beth “Jackie” Wolfe Lindsey, a resident of Blue Springs, Alabama, died early Tuesday evening, March 25, 2025, at her home. She was 77.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 28, 2025, in Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery, Clio, with Pastor Randy Adams officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday in the sanctuary of Calvary Assembly of God.

Mrs. Lindsey, daughter of the late Andy and Bessie Barbel, was a native of Lawton, Oklahoma. She formerly lived in Anderson, South Carolina and Ozark before moving to Blue Springs six years ago. Mrs. Lindsey retired as a truck driver for Wheel Wright Trucking Company. Some of her favorite times were spent being with her family, singing, and playing the guitar. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Renae Lindsey, son, Billy James “Jamey” Shirley, grandson, Michael Knight, and three brothers, Bobby Wolfe, Lloyd Wolfe, and David Kerr.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Allen C. Lindsey, Blue Springs; four daughters, Mischelle Hammond, Sevierville, Tennessee, Kathy Lindsey, Fletcher, North Carolina, Dawn Grimes (Keith), Clio, and Tracy Miller (Alton), Ozark; a son, Thomas Lindsey, Boone, North Carolina; a brother, Earl Kerr, Pampa, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren.

GRANBURY, TEXAS. . .Stanley Paul Cutchen, Sr., a resident of Granbury, Texas, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, at his home. He was 78.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the Headland Baptist Cemetery, Headland, Alabama, with Brother Stephen Sellaro officiating. Stanley Cutchen was born in Douglas, Arizona, son of the late Earvin Alex Cutchen and Bama Estelle Hicks Cutchen. He was a 1967 graduate of Headland High School. Stanley served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints. Stanley was formerly employed by T U Electric in Glenrose, Texas as a Motor Operated Valve Technician. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Cox Cutchen, sisters, Myrtle May Cutchen and Rebecca Farris and brothers, Earvin Alex Cutchen, Jr. William Johnson Cutchen, Franklin Delano Cutchen and Edwin Charles Cutchen.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Alicia Cutchen, a son, Paul Cutchen, both of Granbury, Texas; a sister, Sallie Dannelly, Wichita Falls, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

HEADLAND… Edward “MacMac” Woodham, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday night, March 25, 2025, at his home. He was 82.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Raymond Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Woodham was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Edward J. Woodham and Vanarah Tew Woodham. He was a 1960 graduate of Midland City High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. Mr. Woodham worked as a heavy machinery mechanic most of his life at Flint Equipment in Dothan, Alabama. He was a member of the Magnolia Free Will Baptist church in Midland City, Alabama. He was known for his strong loving arms and his heart, that was always full of love. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Allen Woodham and Kenneth Woodham; and his sister-in-law, Pauline Woodham.

Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife of sixty years, Glenda Sewell Woodham; his daughter, Amanda Woodham; his brother, Rodger Woodham (Emelie); his niece, Shana Woodham Marshall (Joe); his nephews, Dana Woodham (Taresa), Theron Woodham, Mark Woodham, and Todd Woodham; his special grands, Jesse Beasley (Wendie), Raegan Chumney (Zach), Lindsey Sullivan (Tyler), Joanna Marshall (Kade), and Greg Wilson; and his several other great nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Tyler Sullivan, Zach Chumney, Jesse Beasley, Todd Woodham, John Hughes, Justin Hughes, Brandon Hughes, and Joe Woodham. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hughes and Greg Wilson.

Mr. Jack Andrew Battle, age 91, of Dothan, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Jack was born January 8, 1934 in Houston County to the late Harry K. Battle and Lorene Kate Cherry Battle. Jack was a long-time member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed the outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or gardening, Jack enjoyed being outside unless it was to watch his beloved Alabama play.

Jack is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Battle; his sons, Jackie Battle (Judy) and Donald Battle (Kay); his grandchildren, Courtney Maertens (Jason), Alyssa Henderson (Jacob), Scotty Hanners, and Alicia Porter (William Edward), Brandon Hanners (Meaghan Baird), and Madison Hanners; his great-grandchildren, Bryant Battle, Kadon Shiver, Tristan Maertens, Asher Maertens, Jase Maertens, Waylon Henderson, and Conner Baird; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Smith officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family would like to thank Jody, Allison, Tiffany, Joann, Chaplain Joel, and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the care given to Jack.
