Mrs. Patricia Ann Davidson, of Slocomb, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Malvern Baptist Church with Bro. Hosea Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time.
Patricia was born on November 23,1936 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Jesse L. McCoy and Gladys Tyndell McCoy. She enjoyed her occupation at Campbell Soup Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Davidson, of 52 years, and two sons: Rick Davidson and Jimmy Davidson.
Survivors include her daughters: Deborah (Tom) Gavin of Bonifay, Rhonda Davidson of Taylor; Nine Grandchildren and several Great-Grandchildren; a special niece, Jan, and other extended family and friends.

Margaret Dell Hale, a beacon of unwavering love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Ozark, Alabama. Born on June 25, 1938, in Bellwood, Alabama, Margaret’s life was a testament to the power of faith and the strength of the human spirit.
Margaret’s early years in Bellwood were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, including her late brothers Lester and Junior Griggs, her sister Sara Nell Martin, and her late sister Iona “Tiny” Dunn. Her family was her cornerstone, and she carried those values of kinship and devotion throughout her life.
In her professional life, Margaret was a dedicated employee at Parisians from the day they opened their doors until her well-deserved retirement. Her work ethic and commitment to service were emblematic of her character, and she was respected and admired by both colleagues and customers alike.
Margaret’s heart knew no bounds, and she found her soulmate in her late husband, Gene Hale. Their love story was one for the ages, and together they founded the Grimes Gospel Music Group, spreading joy and inspiration through their shared passion for music. Her legacy lives on through her loving daughters Delorace Garrett (Jerry) and Donna Parsons (Bill); her son, Mike Hale; and her late daughter Loretta Hensarling. The matriarch of a large and loving family, Margaret was the proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.
Those who knew Margaret would describe her as loving, selfless, and faith-filled. She navigated life’s challenges with grace and always put others before herself. In times of need, Margaret was a source of strength and comfort to her family and friends, embodying the spirit of the well-known quote by Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
As we say goodbye to Margaret Dell Hale, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and generosity. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Margaret’s journey on earth may have ended, but her influence and the love she shared will endure for generations to come.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home with brother Charles Goldsmith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Margaret will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Helen C. Turner of Dothan passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at the age of 100.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, February 21, 2025 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Randy Hunt officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday, February 21, 2025.
Helen was born August 31, 1924 in Georgia, the daughter of the late Dewey and Faye Beavers Carroll.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George W. Turner, son George W. (Billy) Turner, Jr., sister Virginia C. Puckett and brother D.S. Carroll.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Crockett (Dave), grandchildren Tony Crockett, Tracy Murphy (Jarrod), Josh Crockett (JoAnna), Melody Peacock (Wayne), Bill Turner, and five great-grandchildren Anna Murphy, Jase Crockett, Shelby Turner, Elijah Turner and Selah Turner.
Rhebia Anne (Barry) Raines, age 84, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at Westside Terrace Healthcare.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Wayne Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until 2:15pm at the funeral home prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or a local church of one’s choice.
Rhebia was born on March 31, 1940 in Plant City, Florida. She spent most of her early childhood years growing up in Valdosta and Moultrie, Georgia. She graduated from Moultrie High School in 1957 and married soon after. She followed her Navy spouse from Moultrie, Georgia to Maryland, to California, to Hawaii and finally back to Valdosta, Georgia. After three children, she became a single mother and provided for her children single handedly until they each started life of their own. After divorce, she moved to Ft. Stewart, Georgia to enter civil service. At Ft. Stewart, she served as the first female helicopter instructor on base. Her role was to teach principles of weather and instrument flight instruction to pilots who would carry these skills to Vietnam. She continued accomplishing great things even into her sixties, where she once again taught helicopter pilots. In this service at Ft. Rucker, she taught pilots how to survive an emergency water landing when the aircraft rolls inverted. She was an incredibly wise mother, and always knew how to make ends meet during difficult times. Rhebia attended Westgate Church of Christ for twenty-five years.
Rhebia is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Lee Barry and Ludie Irene Norman Barry; and husband.
Survivors include her two sons, William “Bill” Johnson (Brooke) of Dallas, TX and Joey Johnson (Cherri) of Concord, NC; daughter Jennifer Johnson, DVM of Knoxville, TN; sister, Dorothy Hunter of Bedford, VA; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.

John Stanton Collier, a devoted father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025 at his home in Slocomb, Alabama.
John was born on March 11, 1956 in Dothan, Alabama. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout with Troop 109, sponsored by Calvary Baptist Church, where he developed a lifelong love for service, leadership, and the outdoors.
He graduated from Dothan High School in 1974 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Auburn University in 1978. He went on to serve with the Dothan Police Department for 26 years, rising to the rank of captain. Following his career in law enforcement, he worked as a machinist at Cook’s Saw Manufacturing in for several years.
John was dedicated to his children and approached both his work and life with passion and integrity. He was deeply driven by a sense of justice, always standing for what was right and protecting those in need. Generous and kindhearted, he never hesitated to help a stranger or support a friend. Though he kept a small circle, his friendships were deeply rooted and unwavering.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time in nature, sharing moments with his children, and keeping up with Auburn athletics.
A private service with close family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Lynn Nesbitt officiating.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ike Collier, Sr. and Evelyn Stanton Collier. He is survived by his children, Catherine Collier and Isaac Collier; his sister, Mary Collier Smith, and her husband, Mark Smith; his brother, Ike Collier Jr.; and his extended family of beloved nieces and nephews.
John’s life was one of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and steadfast love. He will be deeply missed.
