Emily Wilkinson, age 67 of Skipperville, Alabama passed away March 20, 2025, in a Dothan hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 24th at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Clio. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m., on Monday until the time for the services. Rev. Randy Adams and Rev. Russell Hagler will officiate. Special music will be provided Meredith Waddell and Beverly Danford. Interment will follow in the Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Oakes, Stan Adams, Andy Littlefield, Trevor Littlefield, Johnny Godbold, Keith Jones, Alan Turner and Jay Fenn.
Left to cherish her memory, loving husband of 47 years, Larry Wilkinson; daughter, Whitney Sutton (Chris) of Skipperville; grandchildren, Paisley Sutton and Macie Kate Sutton; nephew, Keith Jones (Marcy) of Dothan, AL. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Shehane and Billie Holt Baxter Shehane and her sister, Linda.
A 1976 graduate of Barbour County High School, Emily received a master’s degree in elementary education from Troy University. She began her teaching career at Clio Elementary School, and continued as the school combined with Louisville Elementary School, and later as Barbour County Intermediate School.
After retirement she continued teaching part time at G.W. Long School, Dixie Academy, Lakeside School, and Abbeville Christian School. She was a beloved teacher and made a tremendous positive impact on many students through the years.
Mr. James Ray Daughtry of the Bay Springs Community, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2025. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Green officiating, and grandson, Judson Daughtry delivering the eulogy, and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Daughtry was born June 5, 1938, in Houston County to the late Rex and Gladies Harper Daughtry. James Ray was a man of faith and served many years as the music and choir director at Bay Springs Batist Church. He enjoyed music, could play a number of instruments, and sang with the men’s quartet. He was instrumental in establishing the Bay Springs Volunteer Fire Department and drove the tanker truck for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard all of his life ensuring his family was provided for.
In addition to his parents, a son, James Randy Daughtry; and a brother, Comer Daughtry, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Flora Snell Daughtry; daughter, Jennifer Daughtry Forrester (Keith); grandchildren: Anna Crowley, Judson Daughtry, Michael Crowley, and Ella Forrester; daughter-in-law, Julie Daughtry; sister-in-law, Linda Daughtry; brother-in-law, Dwayne Snell (Gayle); other extended family and friends.
MIDLAND CITY… John Cidney Landreau, a resident of Midland City, Alabama, passed away Friday afternoon, March 21, 2025, at his home. He was 82.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Evan Kohen and Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. A eulogy will be given by his cousin, Jimmy Landreau. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Landreau was born in Hatchechubbee, Alabama to the late Elbert Cidney Landreau and Mary Etta Sanders Landreau. He was a graduate of Russell County High School. He was employed as a laborer and logger all his life. He has lived in the Wiregrass area for thirty-four years.
Mr. John was known for his unwavering love for New York Yankees baseball and Alabama football. These two teams were his constants, and he always found time to cheer them on. His heart loved the roar of the crowd of Yankees games and the triumphs of Alabama’s football team.
When he wasn’t watching a game, you could find him outdoors, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. His love for fishing and hunting were second only to his devotion to his dogs, who were always by his side. The bond he shared with his pets was one of true companionship, as they joined him on many of his outdoor adventures.
But beyond his love for sports and nature, Mr. John had a deep affection for his family. His greatest pride and joy were working tirelessly to support and care for his loved ones. He understood the value of hard work and instilled this same dedication in his family, always striving to provide for them, no matter the challenges life presented.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Landreau Johnston; five brothers, Wilber Preston Landreau, Elbert Glen Landreau, Clarence Eugene Landreau, Raymond Luther Landreau, and Herman David Landreau.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Carol Landreau; his son, Kelly Landreau (Laci); his step-son, Kevin Suggs of Cullman; his two grandchildren, Audri Landreau and Aftin Landreau; his special cousin, Jimmy Landreau; his nephews, Scott Landreau and Page Landreau; his niece, Susan Landreau; and his many other loving family members and friends.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Austin Hill, Blake Walden, Bryan Peters, Chris Mason, David Dozier, Heath Morehead, and Ryan Hammond.
Gary Jones, of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Friday, March 21, 2025 at his home. He was 85.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 24, 2025 at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel, Enterprise, AL with Pastor Johnny Bryant, and Pastor Joey Turman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
Mr. Gary loved fishing, listening to music, and working with electronics. He treasured time with his family, enjoyed reading, and was a devoted Alabama football fan. Always tinkering, he found joy in learning and creating. He will be remembered for his love of life, family, and his many passions.
Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Jones; parents, Harry and Mrytle Jones; sister, Shirley Moore; brother, Wayne Jones; and, brothers-in-law, Jim York, and Don Moore.

Mr. Robert Everett Hammack, age 88, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at Noland Extendicare Facility.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Glover Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert was born in Georgia on November 24, 1936 to John Bruce Hammack and Lillie Mae Turner Hammack. He was a salesman for Lewis Hardware in Dawson, Georgia for thirteen years. Mr. Robert was a great musician with a talent for playing the piano, saxophone, and drums. He played with various artists and bands over the years.
Mr. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy Bruce and Marvin Hammack; sister, Elizabeth Hammack.
Survivors include his special friend, Frankie Gillman of Dothan; daughter, Connie Vance (Michael) of Dothan; brother, Walter Hammack (Carolyn) of Whingham, Georgia; niece and nephew.

Mrs. Theresa Dancy Sorrells of Hartford passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Cox and Rev. Bruce Spivey officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
Interment will be at Hartford City Cemetery.

Mrs. Sorrells was born January 16, 1938, in Geneva County Alabama to the late James Cary Dancy and Florrie Elizabeth Ward Dancy. She graduated from Geneva High School. She was a member of Hartford Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and touched many lives for numerous years. She was a devoted wife of 69 years as well as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Sorrells; sons: Robert Sorrells (Kay) and Jeff Sorrells (Laura); daughter, Sandy Brackin (Larry); grandchildren: Andrew Brackin (Jodi), Grant Sorrells (Magen), Lee Sorrells (Kacee), Anna Bates, Logan Sorrells (Jacey), and Mandi Vera (Jay); 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Kay Sonnenburg (Leon); and other extended family and friends.
Theresa lived her life always focused on Heaven. Her family and friends trust and know she is now with our Father in Heaven.
