LTC Ret. Keith E. Gay of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at home after a battle with Cancer. He was 72.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 16 at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Dothan. The family will receive friends following the service in the parish hall. A graveside service and burial will be held Monday, August 18 at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS. The family will first meet up at Glenwood Funeral Home. Sunset Memorial Park in Dothan is in charge of local arrangements.

Pallbearers at the Vicksburg service will be Adam Gay, Mike Gay, Tom Gay, Bill Mendrop, Robert Arnold, and Rick Linton.

Mr. Gay was born on March 16, 1953, in Vicksburg, MS, to the late Wallace Gay and Ruth Mendrop Gay. He was a 1971 graduate of Cooper High School, and a 1975 graduate of The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He received a master’s degree in leadership and organizational management at University of Redlands in California in 1978.
Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Adam Gay.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years Peggy Lum Gay, of Dothan, and his son, Sam Gay (Katie), of Dothan, three grandchildren who affectionately called him PePaw – Millie Gay, Adam Gay and Margaret Gay, and two brothers, Randy Gay (Marsha), Vicksburg, MS, and Mark Gay (Sue), Springfield, VA.

A retired lieutenant colonel and a dual rated aviator, Mr. Gay had 22 years of combined joint military service in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, where he served in multiple air and ground assignments.

Mr. Gay was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force in 1975, and went through T-37/38 training at Craig, Air Force Base in Selma, Ala. The Air Force’s reduction-in-force placed new pilots on inactive reserve status for 36 months. Mr. Gay resigned and entered the Marine Corps’ Officer Candidate School.

During his time in Marine Corps he served as a second lieutenant in Artillery at 29 Palms, Calif., from 1976-1979; selected for Naval Flight Training, Naval Air Station (NAS) in Pensacola, Fla.; selected for Aviation Maintenance Management Officer (AMMO) School, NAS, Millington, Tenn., in 1980; assigned to VMFA-212 as an F-4 Naval Flight Officer in Kaneohe, Hawaii, from 1980-1983; attended Navy Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) and served as the detachment commander; served overseas deployments to Japan, Korea, and the Philippines; and was assigned to McDonnell Douglas Hornet Introduction Team (HIT) for F-4 transition to F-18- MCAS, El Toro, Calif.

Wanting to get back into flying, Mr. Gay transitioned to the Army for flight school at Fort Rucker, Ala., in 1983. He attended the Maintenance Course and AH-1 Cobra Maintenance Test Pilot course in 1984; was assigned to the 228th AHB, 1st CAV DIV, Ft. Hood, Texas; commanded the F/227, AVIM, 1st CAV DIV; executive officer for 1-7 CAV, 1st CAV DIV; served as the Aviation General Staff Officer, 19th Theater Support Command, Taegu, Republic of Korea; attended Command and General Staff College in 1991; served as Chief, Concepts/Studies Branch, Directorate of Combat Development (DCD), Fort Rucker in 1992; Deputy Director, DCD in 1993; Director, Aviation Battle Lab in 1995; served in the Operational Test Evaluation Agency/Command until 1997.

Following his retirement from the military, he helped start up Navigator Development Group Inc. Through a partnership buyout in 2016, Keith became the full owner of Navigator, and its headquarters, which is the historic Rawls Hotel in downtown Enterprise. Navigator is a defense industry consulting firm that provides contract support to the Department of Defense agencies across the Aviation, Training and Technology domains. Navigator supports government and industry customers at multiple locations: Enterprise, Dothan, Fort Rucker, Huntsville, Redstone Arsenal, AL; Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field, FL; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Kirtland AFB, NM; Fort Sill, OK, and Fairchild AFB, WA.

HEADLAND… Cody Charles Lynn, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Sunday morning, August 10, 2025, at a Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama. He was 79.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Minister Roy Glenn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Lynn was born in Barbour County, Alabama, to the late Lonnie Charles Lynn, Sr. and Mary Lois Skipper Lynn. He lived most of his lifetime around the Headland, Alabama area. He was a farmer by trade and had recently been working with Rushing Farms of Headland.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmie Lynn, Willie Muriel Lynn, Addie Lois Lynn, and Willie East “Man” Lynn.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty Dawkins Lynn; his daughters, Cynthia Brown (Avery) and Sylvia Horsely (Carlos); his son, Corey JaQuan Lynn; his bonus sons, Nicholas Brown and Amos Brown (Melissa; his sisters, Willie Mae Parker (David), Nettie Lynn, and Nellie Mae Turner; his brothers, Lonnie Charles Lynn, Jr. and Freddie D. Lynn; his grandchildren, Zaylin Brown, Jajuan Brown, Nadia Horsely, Trinity Horsely, and Kyleigh Horsely; his bonus grandchildren, Kara Nicole Brown and Alisha Renee Brown; bonus great grandchildren, Tylvrin Brown and Israel Javon Brown;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving family members.

Theresa Ann Clark, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, August 11, 2025 at Southeast Health Medical Center. She was 76.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clark will be held at 2 PM Friday, August 15, 2025 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Reverend Richard Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 1: 45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clark was born April 26, 1949 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Wilburn Lester and Gracie Lee Hicks Kimbrough and moved to Dothan in 1959. She drove a Special Needs bus for Dothan City Schools for 33 years and loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Clark is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Wayne Clark; son, Bryan Keith Clark, and siblings, Richard Kimbrough and Tina Massey.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Ann Broxton; grandchildren, Jerrah Ann Briggs, Chelsea Nicole Broxton, Cross Scott Ingram; five great grandchildren; sisters, Janie Van Slyke (Herb), Vanessa Adkinson Line (Doug) and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Norman David Haney of Geneva, AL passed to the top of his mountain on Monday, August 11, 2025. He was 69 years old.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cottondale, FL with Rev. Zach Dodson officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Norman was born in Las Vegas, NV on September 05, 1955 to the late Coy and Gwendolyn Cotton Haney. He worked along side his father in the bakery business while growing up. Later he was employed at the poultry processing plant prior to his retirement. After retirement, he relaxed and started to enjoy his life, simply going and doing things he enjoyed.

Norman was a special soul who touched everyone he knew in a very sweet way. He had a passion for playing drums at church and served the Lord in doing so. He was loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Gail Haney.

Norman is survived by three sisters, Brenda Rouse (Fred) of Daleville, AL, Ruth Jett (Owen) of Albany, GA, and Patricia Burns (Danny) of Geneva, AL and many nieces and nephews.

Bradley Charles Wolf, Jr. “Charlie” of Geneva, AL passed away Thursday, August 07, 2025. He was 31.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, August 15, 2025 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral in Geneva, AL. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 P.M.

Charlie was born in Somerset, KY on July 20, 1994 to Bradley Charles Wolf, Sr and Trina Jean Bowers Wolf. He was employed as a lineman with Power Grid and been a well-respected power lineman for 10 years. He was an avid naturist and collector of coins, an animal lover and just an overall gentle spirit. He loved his family, especially his nephew and his nieces. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Charlie was preceded in death by a niece, Jasmine Berry.

Charlie is survived by his father and stepmother, Bradley Charles Wolf, Sr. (Shannon) of Geneva, AL; his mother, Trina Bowers Wolf of Milton, FL; two sisters, Scarlet Leanna Wolf of Milton, FL and Lauren Noel Keeney (Donny) of Pensacola, FL; one nephew, Tonio Mackall of Milton, FL; two nieces, Alivia Almendariz of Milton, FL and Aaliyah Keeney of Pensacola, FL.

 Michael Alan “Mike” Gilley, 63, of Ozark, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.   Funeral services for Mr. Gilley will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 15, 2025, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Tim Sewell officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday from 12:30 P. M. until service time.   Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Gilley, Clayton Phillips, Bowen Gilley, Tad Dunlap, Kenneth Cherry and Nathan Hilburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Double M. Property Service employees; Tony DeSausa, Julio Tello, Orlando DeJesus, Wilmer Gonzalez, Sammy Hernandez and “Shamu”.

Born on March 5, 1962, in Ozark to the late Jimmy Rex Gilley and Joyce Cherry Gilley, Mike lived a life devoted to his family and the simple joys he loved most. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and cheering on Alabama football. A proud husband, father, “Pappy,” and dog dad, Mike treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Abby. He especially loved fishing at the lake with his grandboys or simply being by their side for whatever adventures they dreamed up.  Mike worked for many years with Dale Farmers Co-op before starting his own maintenance and remodeling business, where he took pride in his work and serving his community.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Albert Lee Padgett.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Malissa Denise Gilley of Ozark; daughter, Shanna Gilley of Ozark; son, Dustin (Amber) Gilley of Ozark; four beloved grandchildren, Clayton David Phillips, Bowen Myles Gilley, Griffin Wade Gilley, and Wiley Hank Gilley; and his faithful canine companion, Abby. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses of Enhabit Hospice and to Sandra and Kenneth Cherry for their compassionate care and support.
