Tickets still available for Oct. 12 concert
Tickets are still available for the biggest gospel music festival ever to take place in the City of Enterprise.
The “Enterprise Celebration,” hosted by the City of Enterprise and Enterprise Area Chamber of Commerce, gets under way at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12.
Mayor Kenneth Boswell welcomes everyone not only from Enterprise but throughout the Wiregrass and beyond to come and hear five of the most renowned Christian artists in the industry: Country/bluegrass icon Rickey Skaggs; former Gaither Vocal Band baritone, solo artist and comedian Mark Lowry; top-selling gospel artist and host of DayStar Network’s “Gospel Music Showcase” Guy Penrod; “America’s Favorite Family of Gospel Music” The Hoppers, featuring multi award-winning soprano Kim Hopper; and singer-songwriter Russ Taff, formerly of The Imperials, who is known for his versatility in singing styles from pop and contemporary Christian music to rhythm and blues.
“Everyone will have time to go to church Sunday morning and then come on down to Bates Memorial Stadium, have a late lunch prepared by one of the food vendors set up around the ball field, browse among the other booths and vendors, and enjoy an afternoon and evening of terrific gospel music,” the mayor said. “This is an absolutely great line-up of Christian artists that we are extremely excited to bring to the Wiregrass.”
Boswell reminded that even the youngsters will have a great time at the bounce houses and other activities set up for them.
“We believe everyone will receive a blessing from this great event,” he said, explaining that this is the first time a gospel festival of this kind and size has been done in Enterprise. “And we hope it won’t be the last.”
Boswell said he is especially looking forward to the early afternoon performances by the Enterprise Community Mass Choir, the Wiregrass Celebration Choir and the Johns Chapel AME Choir.
Tickets are available at locations throughout the Wiregrass, including the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, Dove Christian Supply in Enterprise, Yancey Parker’s, Dove Christian Supply in Dothan, the Elba Chamber of Commerce, Troy Chamber of Commerce, Don Walker’s Western Wear, Eagle Eye Outfitters, Ozark Chamber of Commerce and Opp Chamber of Commerce.
Advance tickets are $28 for all five artists and the entire day of music and fun. Tickets sold at the gate the day of the show are $30 each. VIP tickets are also available for seating in the Gold Circle, which will be special seating directly in front of the main stage. Those tickets are $82 in advance or $125 the day of the show.
