HOUSTON COUNTY: Several years ago under the leadership of Rev. Ernest O’Neal, Memphis Baptist Church started a group termed “The Faith Riders”. That decision has proven to be the right decision, and one that has been a great and positive influence on many lives.
After 30 years as Pastor, Bro “O” retired. The Pastor Search Committee was patient for God’s leadership in making a decision for Pastor. After much prayer, it was evident of who GOD was leading to be the new Pastor of Memphis Baptist Church. That man was Rev. Jim Tate and his wife Judith.
Recently Memphis Baptist celebrated the fourth anniversary of Brother Jim and Mrs. Judith at Memphis. This week we celebrate the 15h anniversary of our Associate Pastor Rev. Rick Glenn and Mrs. Ginny.
Under the leadership of Brother O and Brother Jim, and with the hard work of a lot of people to include the leader of Faith Riders, Roger Hall, Memphis Baptist Church has seen a vision grow into a great ministry.
FAITHRIDERS ride their motorcycle to church, attend worship in their leather gear, and are a very strong active part of Memphis Baptist Church. While their focus involves those who are involved in the motorcycle’s, their real focus is on serving GOD and ministering to the needs of anyone that will let them love them.
Memphis Baptist Church FAITHRIDERS are celebrating their 6th year Anniversary. The celebration will be with BBQ on Friday April 5th. Plates are $ 7.00.
The plates include great BBQ, baked beans, slaw bread and GREAT poundcake too!!!
Call Memphis Baptist Church at 334-677-5387 to reserve your plate. Employers…call and order plates for your workforce. The BBQ is terrific. I have eaten a plate several years.
Memphis FAITHRIDERS will have a motorcycle ride on Saturday April 6. Registration is on the Saturday, 9 AM to 10 AM. There is a $ 10 per bike fee and $ 5 per rider fee for the motorcycle ride. This fee includes your lunch on Saturday,
For more information you can go to www.Dothanfaithriders.org or call 334-803-7148.
If you ride motorcycles, you will find some loving “friends” at Memphis Baptist Church with the FAITHRIDERS team.
