TUMBLETON COMMUNITY. . .Clotean Murray Smith, a resident of the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, passed away Thursday night, April 16, 2026, in a Dothan hospital. She was 95.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 19, 2026, in the Balkum Cemetery, 1153 County Road 55, Headland, AL 36345, with Reverend Tom Chestnut and Pastor Philip Gagliano officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Henry County and the Tumbleton Community, daughter of the late Stephen Grady Floyd and Ossie Willis Floyd. She was a 1948 graduate of Newville High School where she was the class Salutatorian. Mrs. Smith was a member of Balkum Baptist Church. She was retired as Store Manager of Ezzell’s in Headland after twenty years employment. In earlier years, she was employed by WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville for eighteen years. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin J. “F.J.” Murray and Roscoe Paul Smith, a brother, Robert Edward Floyd and a sister, Grace McClendon.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Teresa Murray Jennings (Tom), Headland; a son, Michael Franklin “Mike” Murray (Mary), Tumbleton Community; step-children, Paula Cook, Roscoe Paul Smith, Jr. (Mary), and Judy Creel; grandchildren, Amanda Murray Hardy (Adam) and Zach Murray (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Gray Hardy, Mary Michael Hardy, Jack Murray and Everly Murray; nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Zach Murray, Adam Hardy, Gray Hardy, Joe Masters, Matthew McClendon and Ryan McClendon.
