Are you interested in sharpening your gardening and landscaping skills? Do you enjoy helping and educating others? If so, the Dale County Master Gardener Course will be offered Wednesdays, August 6 – October 22, 2014 at the Dale County Government Building in Ozark. The purpose of this nation wide Extension education program is to train interested gardeners to help others solve their home horticulture problems. The course is designed for non-professionals with an interest in increasing their gardening skills and helping others with the knowledge they’ve gained. Subject matter will include plant nutrition, plant id, turfgrass, landscape management, landscape design, entomology, plant diseases, vegetable gardening, and home fruit production and more. 50 hrs. of volunteer service is required to become a Certified Master Gardener. The cost is $125. Application deadline is August 1st. Please call the Dale County Extension office for more information or an application form (334)774-2329.
