Good day. As a friend of the Jernigan family I feel the need to reach out to our community to help a young girl that needs our help. I have started a Booster for Callie Jernigan the booster is a T-shirt fundraiser click the li nk below to visit our pagehttps://www.booster.com/courageouscallie Callie Jernigan is a local young lady who has been involved in the horse community in Southeast Alabama for many years. Callie has been diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Aplastic anemia (AA) is a disease in which the bone marrow, and the blood stem cells that reside there, are damaged.[1] This causes a deficiency of all three blood cell types (pancytopenia): red blood cells (anemia), white blood cells (leukopenia), and platelets (thrombocytopenia). Aplastic refers to inability of the stem cells to generate the mature blood cells. Her fight to beat this involves a lengthy hospital stay, several medical tests, medical procedures.Callie has a donor, the donor is her sister Caitlin. Callie & Caitlin are headed to Birmingham this week to get started on Callie’s treatment. This has been a really difficult time for this family. Her family also needs our help they are at a loss as well with both parents being out of work. The cost of this weighs heavily on everyone affected. All profits from the T-shirt sales will go to the Jernigan family. Let’s do what we can to help them! Please Dothan and surrounding areas lets show this young lady the community’s support!!Thank you,Angie LawsAny questions please contact me @ 334-796-2366
