“Blue Ribbon Friday for Kids” is Friday, April 27th
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is coordinating the 18th annual Blue Ribbon Campaign. The CAC mission is to reduce trauma and anxiety for child victims of sexual and severe physical abuse. Last year more than 1,000 children and non-offending family members received services at the CAC. The blue ribbon is a national symbol for the protection of children, and the CAC has dedicated Friday, April 27th as “Blue Ribbon Friday for Kids.” The public is invited to show their support of the CAC by purchasing and wearing “Blue Ribbon Friday for Kids” t-shirts each Friday during April. The t-shirt design was created by CAC clients and consists of a tree inside a blue ribbon with the message “Helping Grow Courageous Children.” The design is on a kelly green 50/50 jerzees t-shirt. Shirts are available in adult sizes for a $15 donation and youth sizes for a $10 donation. For information on the Blue Ribbon Campaign, or to order your t-shirts, please call 671-1779.
