Thursday, September 10, 20156:30p.mPoplar Head Park, Downtown DothanIn observance of World Suicide Prevention Day, Wiregrass Suicide Prevention Services is hosting a Candlelight Vigil to honor the lives that have been lost to suicide and to show compassion for those left behind. If you or anyone you know has been touched by the devastating loss of suicide, please come out and light a candle in remembrance. This is a quiet, intimate gathering of survivors and supporters. There will be a survivor/speaker and we have invited a local minister to offer prayer. WSPS will be there with candles, t-shirts, and support. This is a precursor event to the Dothan Out of the Darkness Community Walk, which supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. WSPS is a local organization dedicated to suicide prevention in our local communities. Rose Blakey-Phillips is the director and has worked for many years to raise awareness about suicide.
