Emily Sue Lane Ingram, 84 years of age, of Shalimar, Florida passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Sue was born on February 3, 1939 to Cecil and Dorothy Lane in Ashford, AL. and graduated from Ashford High School. She married Manley Ingram of Pansey, Alabama in 1958 and moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL in 1964 and later to Shalimar, FL. Together they raised their two children Keith and Simone. A devoted wife and mother, she raised her family with an abundance of love. That love continued to grow as her family grew. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother and great grandmother.Sue had a lengthy career at Central Telephone Company (Centel) and retired in 1995.Sue was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She found friendships where ever she went. Her daily trips to the Donut shop to visit with friends were special to her and she could often be found behind the counter running the register and packaging donuts with a smile on her face. A devoted member of Shalimar Baptist Church, Sue had many close friendships in her women’s group. Lovingly known as the Breakfast Club, they gathered to laugh and share stories about family, friends and world events. Her many friends have been such a blessing to Sue and her family during her illness, providing food, prayer and comfort.Preceded in death by her parents, husband Manley, grandson Chad and brother Burl Lane.Sue is survived by her son Keith (Kim) and his daughter Delaney of Rutledge, Tennessee, daughter Simone (Joe) Early of Fort Walton Beach. Her grandchildren Adreanna (Raymond) Wilson and their son Xavier, Melissa (fiancé Frankie and his son Jace) and her siblings Linda (Bill) Thorne and Gail Lane.Visitation will be held on Thursday April 20,2023 at 10:00 am at Shalimar Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 11:00. Burial and graveside service will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Pansey, Alabama on Friday April 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shalimar Baptist Church, 17 Fourth Avenue, Shalimar, Florida 32579 or Lantern Vision, PO Box 660141 Birmingham, AL 35266.
