Homeless Stand Down Needs Help from the Community

Help us help the homeless. The Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH) will sponsor a Homeless Stand down on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Alfred Saliba Family Service Center, 301 West Lafayette St., Dothan, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Our Homeless Stand Down will provide assistance to include a hot meal for our homeless population. We are reaching out to the community for help with volunteers as well as items needed. Needed Items are: clothes, socks, combs, hair brushes, blankets, sleeping bags, personal hygiene items, can food, and tents. Donations can be dropped off at the Wiregrass United Way 2-1-1 office, 545 W Main St., Suite 313, through May 17th between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Donations can be dropped off at the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center starting on May 18th from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. as well as on the day of the event.
