Local Dothan, AL resident, US Marine Veteran and high-tech entrepreneur, John D. Parkman, has been accepted into Silicon Valley's prestigious Founder Institute. The Founder Institute is a global network of startups and mentors that helps entrepreneurs launch meaningful and enduring technology companies. Today’s students work full- and part-time, some hold mortgages, support a child, have car payments and so they certainly don’t need additional administrative hassles while studying for a college degree. A major clerical hurdle for students concerns which courses and the sequence of courses to take in order to graduate in a timely manner without accidentally paying and taking courses they do not need. Mr Parkman's company, MyAcademicProgram, is solving this problem with a web-ba sed technology that empowers students to graduate in less time, by providing personalized course recommendations ba sed on their individual learning needs and extracurricular interests.
