Sparks Campus Writing Center to hold Open House

What: The Wallace Community College-Sparks Campus in Eufaula will hold an open house for The Writing Center, a state-of-the-art lab designed to help students with college-level writing.
When: Thursday, October 23, 2014 9:00 to 12:00 p.m.
This is an open event; you may visit at your convenience between 9:00-12:00 p.m.

Details: The Center is designed to create an all-inclusive ‘all students, all writing’ community of writers. It is open to all students, faculty, and staff. The Writing Centers, located on both the Sparks and Wallace Campuses, are the result of a $1.6 million grant through the Federal Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP), more commonly known as Title III. Wallace is the only college in Alabama and one of only 32 in the nation to receive a Title III grant focusing on college completion and improving institutional productivity.
The Writing Center staff will explain the advantages of the Center, and students will be available during tutoring sessions. Visitors will be able to observe an English class and how they are utilizing the Center and Writing Lab spaces.
Media will have the opportunity to interview staff and students.
